Digital Retail Apps (DRA) has captured the Judges Choice Award for Best Mobile Solution, in large part because of its innovative shop and pay in-store solution. DRA’s mobile app, SelfPay, is a consumer app that enables shoppers to scan barcoded items at supported retail locations, look up product details, and pay for their purchase in-app, directly on their own device. SelfPay takes an agnostic approach that allows it to not only make in-store payments easier, via the shopper’s device and CNP transactions, but to act as a wallet aggregator, according to DRA. To date, SelfPay supports in-store, in-app payments using credit and debit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay. The modular design can integrate with the merchant’s own branding, back end systems, POS, payment methods, payment processor and even existing retail app, DRA notes. In addition, SelfPay offers merchants a patented verification solution and an associate-facing app--SelfPay Staff--to ensure that all items leaving the store have been paid for, DRA says. SelfPay Staff also lets associates check shoppers out by building a cart and scanning the shopper’s card with their device, eliminating any hardware card readers or attachments. And DRA’s "Scan. Pay. Go!" user flow can be deployed seamlessly at merchants of all types, small and large with minimal effort and integration work performed by the merchant, according to DRA. Since its founding in 2012, DRA has developed partnerships and relationships with industry leaders such as Digital River, Visa, Vend, Shopify, Twocanoes Software and numerous other companies. This reach has given DRA the experience and ability to deploy at stores large and small. DRA notes that it is making progress with several national and global merchants and expects to launch several trials this year.
