A panel of five judges for the 2014 CNP Awards have chosen Paydiant’s mobile wallet platform as the Best Mobile Solution. With large mobile payment aggregators like Google Wallet, ISIS and PayPal always threatening disintermediation, Paydiant says its white-label mobile wallet platform is a safe haven for the likes of merchants, banks and payment processors. Thanks to Paydiant, they can capitalize on all the benefits associated with mobile wallets, along with the added perk of remaining in control of their transaction data. With Paydiant’s patented, cloud-based solution, retailers and banks retain more control, which, according to the company, helps to address several key challenges in mobile payments today. Among the various perks offered by the Paydiant solution are payment cost (retailers and banks can steer their customers to preferred tender types), reduced risk of fraud and data breaches (customers can make secure mobile payments without sharing their payment card credentials with hundreds of merchants’ POS systems), and the reduced risk of disintermediation (merchants, banks and payment processors maintain complete control over their transaction data). Although Paydiant—being a white-label solution—is not at liberty to share many of the metrics illustrative of its high success, the company says its approach is being adopted by some of the largest retailers and banks in North America—among them, Subway, Harris Teeter, a top-10 US grocer, two of the top-10 department stores in the US, a national frozen yogurt chain, Bank of America, Capital One, Barclaycard and City National Bank.
